INSIDE OUR BLACKOUT CONSTRUCTION

The details behind your shade.

Look beyond the front fabric: white blackout lining, attached fabric batten pockets and sewn edges form the construction behind the shade.

Illustrative rendering of decorative face fabric joined to white blackout lining

Face fabric & blackout lining

The decorative face fabric is paired with a separate white blackout lining. The two textiles come together at the sewn edges.

Batten pockets, sewn to the lining

Fabric sleeves enclose the rear battens and are sewn to the white blackout lining. The pockets remain connected to the backing assembly.

What to check with a swatch
Look at the weave. Feel the fabric.
View the sample up close, then from across the room. Ask how the fabric drapes in your chosen fold style and follow its specific care instructions; washable or stain-resistant finishes should never be assumed.
Compare daylight with evening light.
Hold a sample vertically near your window, wall paint and furniture. Compare it in daylight and under the lamps you normally use. Screens and room lighting can both change how a color appears.
Choose the face fabric and lining together.
Color and weave describe the front fabric. The selected lining changes how much light passes through it. Ask to review the intended fabric-and-lining combination; blackout lining does not remove all light around the edges of a shade.
